A member asked:

How many calories do i need to maintain my weight? (5 foot 5.5" and weigh 119 lbs, lightly active/, occasional sedentary during day, run 2.5 mi/night)

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Harris Benedict Form: Harris benedict formula: women basal metabolic rate = 655 + (4.35xwt in #) + (4.7xht in inches) minus (4.7xage in years). The calories is the basal amount needed to maintain weight. If you are sedentary, total BMR above x 1.2. Lightly active =bmr x 1.375; moderately active (exercise 3-5 days a week) BMR x 1.55; very active, exercise6-7 days a week, BMR x 1.725; extra active BMR x 1.9.
