If you have negative strep test, should it be rechecked if throat hurt a week later?

Recheck: A negative rapid strep test should be always confirmed with a complete throat culture. If throat pain continues after a negative test, the rapid strep and culture should be repeated.

Strep throat : Yes, you should have your throat checked, if it still hurts a week after evaluation for the same problem. Sometimes, a viral tonsillopharyngitis will gradually become a bacterial condition and you may need an antibiotic.
