A member asked:

Barium swallow found a large, abnormally shaped mass in esophagus- & narrowing of esoph. wall but blood work normal- rules out cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily: Normal blood work does not rule out cancer. An abnormal mass in the esophagus needs to be biopsied and tissue examined by a pathologist to make a definitive diagnosis. Please follow you doctor's advice.
