Respiratory issues : May occur at birth. Pediatric pulmonologists diagnose & treat apnea. Pediatric gastroenterologists diagnose & treat reflux to prevent recurrent aspiration pneumonia. Your medical team should include his pediatrician, a geneticist, a feeding specialist (usually an occupational therapist), a pediatric neurologist, a developmental/behavioral pediatrician & early start developmental therapists.

This varies: Clinical symptoms (including respiratory symptoms) of lissencephaly vary based on the degree of brain involvement. A pumonologist should not be necessary unless your baby is experiencing issues; however, you need a good pediatrician with experience caring for children with chronic illness. I would also recommend a swallow study to evaluate for possible aspiration.
