HDL is the good: cholesterol. It transports cholesterol to the liver, where it is processed an eliminated via the intestines. High HDL levels generally help decrease a person's risk for heart disease. LDL cholesterol is also needed, however, the lowest amount needed is not known. Hope this helps.
