See your DR. : Allopurinal os a good alternative to controlling uric acid. But you need to find out if you are a overproducer of ua. Take a 24 urine test for ua and your dr will be able to advise on best oral treatment.

You should let : Your doctor decide what they want to prescribe, but medication proves better than diet alone with gout.

Rx uric acid: Adjust diet. Take in tart cherry juice and tart cherries, 20/day. Add Lemon extract 4 tblspns / day. Avoid alcohol, animal fats, organ meats, anchovies, sardines, tuna, salmon, and shellfish. Limit other meats to 4 oz per day. Avoid high fructose corn syrup containing drinks /foods. Add egg whites, quinoa, soy as protein. Eat lots of citrus fruit and veggies. Drink 4 L /day. If UA stays hi, yes
