Yes: Allopurinol has been around for many years and has proven to be safe and effective for high uric acid levels. I believe 100mg daily is a low dose. Up to 600mg per day can be taken. I would recommend a repeat uric acid blood test. If still elevated discuss increasing the dose with your medical doctor.
