Maybe.: X-rays have miss rates where the finding isn't detected or can't be seen. X-rays are not very sensitive for soft tissue injuries such as ligaments or discs. MRI is more sensitive for soft tissue injury and may show marrow or structure changes from fractures.. CT or nuclear medicine bone scan may show missed fractures, not seen or visible on x-ray. X-ray remains a good screening tool.
