Cannot assume things: It depends on the type of practice and the personal choices of the doctors. A patient is usually asked to return to the office for a follow-up visit to discuss results. Some doctors or medical groups send out results by phone or online. Generally, the radiologist reading the MRI can discuss the results unless the local tradition is for only the referring (primary) doctor to talk about the results.
