Try topical medicine: You can try to apply some topical numbing medicine, often sold in pharmacies to help with babies who are teething. You also can take ibuprofen or acetaminophen if you can tolerate these. However, if the pain persists or worsens over the next few days, you should see a dentist there as toothaches can progress to something worse, such as a tooth abscess.

Difficult call...: I am so sorry to hear you have a toothache. Those can be very disabling depending on the intensity. I don't know where you are but if able to get something like Oragel would be good. However, this is a quick fix to hold you on for a few days. If you have a toothache it is most likely you have an infected cavity so you might need antibiotics.

Toothache: If it is a small to moderate cavity, then OTC pain meds should help. Deeper cavities may require dental care, regardless of how inconvenient it might be. A dead tooth (abscess) cannot wait two months and will require immediate care. Tough to advise you since the extent of your problem is unknown.

See a dentist: If you have a toothache, you may have a cavity or advanced gum disease. A tooth pain won't go away without treatment and the infection may spread to your jaw, cheeks, sinus and to other areas of your head and neck. You can use NSAID OTC or Tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain control. See a dentist ASAP for assessment.

No: A toothache is an infection. It will only worsen and spread to other organ systems, resulting in serious consequences. There are no ointments, salves, pills, ointments, homeopathics, ore snake oils that will cure your infection. You MUST see a Dentist ASAP.
