Helicobacter pylori: The simple answer to your question is yes. There are several blood tests for the bacterial infection. There is also a urease breath test. If you end up seeing a GI doctor and endoscopy performed, a biopsy can also be taken. No single drug cures H. pylori infection. Treatment involves taking several medications for 7 to 14 days. Treatment includes an acid inhibitor and 2 antibiotics.
