Carafate (sucralfate): Carafate (sucralfate) certainly may help with the healing of inflamed gastric lining and is often used in the treatment of gastric ulcers and gastritis. However, it can certainly interfere with the absorption of other medications particularly levothyroxine. Levothyroxine should be taken on an empty stomach at least two hours before other medications to ensure complete and proper absorption.
