HSV1 is not: Consistent with genital herpes. The only way to positively diagnose either is with culture. Would recommend seeing your doc for this important skin test.

Could be: Genital lesions are usually due to HSV 2, but HSV 1 can cause genital lesions. It would be prudent to get the actual lesions tested as the itching may not be due HSV at all. Having HSV 1 and genital itching does not mean the two are related.

If you think you had a oral herpes outbreak in 2014 and took the hsv1 igg blood test both in 2018 and Summer of 2020 and it came back NEGATIVE could it be possible that its a false negative?
I had an IGG serology test that came back positive for HSV1 & negative for HSV2.How can I find out if its oral or genital?I've never had an outbreak.
