Circulation: It is likely due to transient reduction in circulation to the left eye. Diabetes is a risk factor for this. Could be atherosclerosis of the carotid artery or lining of heart. Also could be inflammation of blood vessels. She should be checked with a carotid ultrasound and a blood test for inflammation. ,
