Caloric intake: You will get a lot of different answers to this question depending on who you ask. I feel that you can go down to about 1000 calories per day at the lowest, but this really depends on how active you are. If you are exercising a lot, you may need to take in more calories than that. If you are not active at all, 1000 might be okay. Keep in mind this doesn't account for protein intake which you need.
