Too much is bad: Potassium is normally found in bananas, coconut water and fresh fruits & vegetables. There are medications that "spare" potassium from being excreted. Chronic kidney disease is associated with high potassium levels. Taking potassium supplements without a doctor's supervision is life threatening in any person. It could manifest as sudden cardiac death.
