Meaning?....: Pulmonary edema due to malignancy is often not treatable and has a poor prognosis. But, extensive pulmonary edema of rapid onset can also be fatal even though the underlying cause may be treatable. It is important to seek help right away if you suspect this diagnosis so treatment can be given before it reaches this level of severity.
