Is it safe for a 5 m/o baby to perform an x-ray + ct scan? after did 4 x-rays + 1 ct scan in a week. will it affect his metabolism? (pneumonia)

No: Will not affect his metabolism, but exposure to radiation can be cumulative and increase the risks of developing malignancy in later life. Although it sounds as if these were necessary, try to limit future exposure to such imaging studies.

See below: It is advisable to avoid too many xrays and particularly too many cts in a child. The effects of radiation can be significant and it is still uncertain what the limits should be. Unfortunately sometimes when faced with clinical difficulties, physicians may need to get as much info as possible.
