Antiviral: An antiviral would be appropriate. Seek medical attention. Antibiotics will not help unless a secondary bacterial infection occurs.

Herpes Shingles or ?: If this is as severe as it sounds your aunt definitely needs to be seen and probably prescribed appropriate treatment to get her feeling better. I always worry about shingles when "herpes' is spreading widely over a patch of skin. Sometimes herpes lesions can become secondarily infected with bacteria and cause increasing troubles.
