Sinusitis: It is not unusual for your daughter to still have significant symptoms in the case of sinusitis. It may take 10-14 days for the infection to clear, and symptoms tend to improve gradually. Her headache can be from the fever as well as the sinus pressure. I would recommend giving her a decongestant like pseudo ephedrine (ephedrine sulfate) to reduce congestion. If not improved in a few more days, see a doctor.

Good question!: Many of us think fever after 72 hours is when you should check back in for more advice. If Tylenol (acetaminophen) controls the headache & fever, continue it. Ibuprofen causes GI upset, esp. in kids and taken with food, and should only be used an hour or so after Tylenol (acetaminophen) has not made your kid comfortable. (no pain, and a comfortable temp are the goal, not necessarily no fever at all). Get seen fast, if no help
