You may have a : Neuropraxia, or compressed nerve. Consult with a podiatrist or foot and ankle orthopedist.

Nerve problems: Nerve pain can present as shooting pain. In may not necessarily be only at the ankle and it can come from nerve root irritation as high as the spine nerves. You may also have pain at the ankle when there is accompanying tendinitis. Please get yourself be evaluated by rehabilitation medicine specialist and/or also a foot specialist.
