Are doctors/hospitals allowed to send a child with severe epileptic fits home with morphine to die?

Dying: Doctor role: Hi this scenario is a bit complex for this forum. But, without more information there is probably not an ethical situation where a child with epilepsy is sent home to die. A child with epilepsy alone would be treated and managed to get some stability and health. Now if a child is terminally ill and all other options have been exhausted then hospice care may include pain relief.

Never heard of this: You are describing doctor/hospital assisted suicide, which, other than dr kevorkian, has never existed in the United States. A terminally ill child with on-going epilepsy would be kept within intensive care until stable, and if no hope, would be transferred to hospice care. There would not be this scenario in accredited facilities, with doctors licensed in america, at least currently.
