Not the same meds: Tramadol is a non-narcotic medication which should not significantly interfere or interact withe the morphine you received over 8 hours ago. In general a person should be able to take the tramadol as prescribed if pain has recurred.

Yes but only if . . : Yes, you can take the tramadol but only if the effects of the morphine have worn off. And then only take the tramadol as directed. Be sure not to consume any alcohol during this time. Make use of your pharmacist (who dispensed this medication to you) by asking questions about drug-drug interactions, side effects, etc. Don't forget to make follow up appointment w/your family doc.
