A member asked:

Doctors, do hospitals allow a person to self-donate blood for a future operation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Many insttutions allow patients to donate their own blood for an elective surgical procedure. This is usually done several weeks in advance so the blood volume can be restored and especially employed when the patient has a rare blood type.
