They can be: If prescribed to be taken together then yes, but Codeine (the narcotic in tylenol (acetaminophen) 3) is of low potency compared to morphine and will probably be of little benefit. If you were prescribed the tylenol (acetaminophen) 3 for post dental procedure pain do not take it. You will probably violate the narcotic agreement with your pain physician and put your continued pain management in jeopardy.
