No: If you mean put in an injection of cortisone on your own in your own finger i would say no not a good idea not quite as bad an idea as taking out your own appendix but close also cortisone will somewhat elevate your glucose level imho injections are less effective than surgery and do carry some risk of tendon damage.

DM Trigger Finger: As long as your doctor is not overzealous with the amount of the cortisone used, uses the right type and amount of cortisone, it should be fine. The doctor should also be able to adjust your Insulin in case of blood rise, which can happen transiently after a cortisone shot.
