Saw my dr. yesterday & she said i have tendonitis in one finger & the side of my hand. she prescribed cortisone cream, (very strong) will this work?

Not very well: Corticosteroids in cream form don't penetrat the skin, but r good 4 itching ; rashes. Oral nsaids, aleve (naproxen) or Ibuprofen work well. Determine how u developed it ; try 2 avoid the activity. If very bothersome c a hand surgeon ; a locally injected steroid is very helpful. Some forms of tendinitis r resistant 2 even this ;@ times need surgical release of the tendon sheath.

Doubtful: Steroid creams applied to the skin will not penetrate to the level of the tendons and therefore will most likely not be successful in treating your problem.
