Neurologist: A neurologist could perform a nerve conduction test(emg) to determine where the nerve injury exists. I also recommend that you consult a hand surgeon to work in concert with the neurologist and advise you if any further treatment is worthwhile and what the treatment options are.

Nerve injury: You may have suffered injury to the medial nerve which innervates the three digits on the pinky side from recent injury or possible carpel tunnel syndrome.Use Ibuprofen to decrease inflammation or any pain you may have. These usually resolve with time though you have had residual numbness. A nerve conduction study by a neurologist can provide info. OTC Wrist splints can help in carpel tunnel.
