Many causes/triggers: There is no single cause of canker sores but they are often triggered by particular foods like citrus, tomatoes & gluten. Some are caused by sodium lauryl sulfate, commonly found in toothpastes. My favorite treatment is topical licorice extract, but homeopathy may also be helpful. May be cancer: Cold sores normally go away. Cancer does not. The virus that causes cold sores stays there , but you cannot see it. Get examined by a dentist, oral surgeon, physician asap for a diagnosis and possible biopsy.

Cold sores: Cold sores frequently brek out when your immune system i compromised. Since you state that you have chronic fatigue and depression this could be allowing the virus to break out. There is also antiviral medication available which may help... You should discuss this with you physician or dentist.
