Depends: Your pulse rate may be normal. This depends on your current state of health, medications you are on and what physical condtition you are in. If in great shape and exercising, it could be normal. If on certain meds, it would be acceptaable. If you have symptoms of dizziness, fatigue, shortness or breath, chest pain or othe symptoms, see your pcp/cardiologist. Yoiu could have a significant prob.

Not necessarily: The normal heart is usually between 60 and 80 beats per minute. However slower heart rate is often seen in normal people with no heart disease including young and well conditioned individuals . If you belong to this category you have nothing to worry about.

Probably not: If you are otherwise healthy, a heart rate in the 50's is probably completely normal. However, if you have heart disease then the rate must be considered in context of your other cardiac problems.

Slow heart rate: None whatsoever. You are probably fairly well conditioned-that is the reason for your slower heart rate. If you are not in excellent shape-then there maybe some concern. Please check with your pcp.

Heart rate: No problem if you have no symptoms. Trained athletes may have resting heart rates on the 40's.
