Pristiq (desvenlafaxine): Coming off the Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) is likely a major factor. In my limited experience with pristiq- patients had a difficult time tapering down the dose. I would talk to your prescribing provider about the speed of your taper. Take care.

Emotions: Originate in the limbic system of the brain. This is a computer and poor diet, especially all the sweet stuff, will cause you to become "more emotional" so try a decent diet.

Depression: A depression rebound is common when coming off anti-depression medications. Please contact your doctor immediately and make him aware of what you are experiencing. He may consider a different medication or treatment. I hope you feel well soon.

Emotional dyscontrol: I gather you suffer from depression, and perhaps another medication may assist your issues, but there is a drug in neurology which is useful for poor emotional control in head injuries, alzheimer's disease, mulitiple sclerosis, and stroke, and might be useful in your case even though you do not have those problems. It is called nuedexta. Ask your doc if this might work.
