Stop now: Remove the cover and stop neosporin asap. The neomycin in neosporin can slow healing. You should see a dr for a serious burn. You will need a prescription for silvadene, (silver sulfadiazine) and may need to have some skin surrounding the burn removed. There is a risk of infection in the burn area and the tissue surrounding it.

See MD: Neosporin is not very effective way to treat burns. See the surgeon for proper evaluation and treatment preferably in a burn center to avoid severe scars.

HHow serious is burn: It all depends on the type of burn, you say serious burn. You have to uncover it daily and see the haeling progress, ad you will know when to take the dressing off.By the way neosprin is not the ideal cream to use for burns, we recommeng silvadene (silver sulfadiazine) cream, which is availabole by prescription only. But if you have a serious burn it should be treated under medical care.
