Neosporin: A mainstay of burn therapy is the application of a topical antimicrobial, such as neosporin, polysporin, bacitracin, silvadene, (silver sulfadiazine) etc., to prevent infection. Aquaphor can help keep a wound moist, but it has no antimicrobial in it; it is used to help dry or irritated skin, not real burn wounds.
