Look carefully: And you can see a dimple if it is a pilonidal cyst. Sometimes it is difficult or even impossible to tell. Initial treatment is same for both--antibiotics and local heat. But different when it comes to definitive surgery. You need to show it to a surgeon for definitive answer. It is a pain in the you know where.
