Several causes : There can be several causes of enlarged popliteal lymph nodes.The commonest is infection in the distal part of the extremity like foot, ankle and leg.You say you do not have any infection.Other causes are lymphomas, leukemia and metastasis disease and that can only be diagnosed by doing an excision biopsy.You should check with your doctor what he/she feels need to be done to make the diagnosis.
