Pain: In my practice i give 600 to 800 mg of Motrin before the surgery and advise the the patient to take it three times a day , if he needs or not to reduce the inflammatory process and expedite the healing , narcotic does not do that , my advice take the Motrin or advil 600 mg with 500 mg tylenol (acetaminophen) , if pain persists then likely hood you have what's known dry socket , the blood colt was lost or did not.

Dosage: If you are only taking one percocet, try taking another tylenol (acetaminophen) with it. You will get more pain relief without feeling more drowsy. You could also try taking two percocet, but you should be prepared for the extra sedative effect of the medicine. Also, try taking Ibuprofen in between the doses of Percocet for added pain relief without more drowsiness.

Could be dry socket: If pain medication is not resolving your discomfort, and it is 2-3 days post op, you could possibly have dry socket, which will hurt no matter how much pain medication you take. If you just had it removed, try 3-4 Ibuprofen tablets every 8 hours in between your doses of Percocet to reduce overall pain and inflammation.
