Tongue scraper: Bad breath can come from a many sources, but the most common are bacteria that form what are called Volatile Sulfur Compounds, or VSC's. These are mainly found on the tongue, especially the rear area of the tongue. Invest in a tongue scraper (Oolit is a good one) and scrape the surface of your tonge at least twice a day. You will probably find, along with good oral hygiene, that things improve

Possibly: The nerves that give feeling and function to your face, teeth, tongue, etc. are closely intertwined, and many of them share a common junction, called a ganglion, specifically the trigeminal ganglion that is above and behind the TMJ. Pain and swelling in the area of the TMJ can cause other areas to hurt, including the tongue, teeth, and face.

False: There is no scientific, verifiable data that suggests vitamin supplements in any way affect or interfere with dental restorations. Go ahead and supplement as needed, but make sure you consult with your physician on how much to take. There is a lot of false information out there on vitamin supplementation, and unless it is backed by peer reviewed, double blind studies, it may be bad information.
