Other symptoms?: Does it feel like a pulled muscle? How long does it last ? Do certain foods make it worse. Have you tried any meds? Did you injure the muscle working out? Would you say it is more related to food or activity? If food, you may want to obtain us of gallbladder to rule out stones a common cause of rt back pain exacerbated by food. Is there any abdominal pain? Bloating? Nausea?

Could be esophagus: You could have an esophageal motility disorder such as spasm that is causing symptoms. It is also possible to have gallbladder problems, that sounds a bit less likely. The hiatal hernia should only be a problem if it is large. Hope this helps.
