Junction not tight: The muscle between your esophagus and stomach is not as strong as it should be. You are at risk for reflux of stomach contents into the esophagus.
Dr. Creighton Wright

Large: Patulous = large the area of esophagus at stomach is large like a hiatal hernia as diagnosed. If very symptomatic it may need repair surgically.

What might cause my stomach to feel hard and be sensitive to touch?

Dr. Colin Kerr

Hard tender stomach: The most common reason for a hard (probably distended) stomach that is tender to touch is gas. With severe intraperitoneal infections or inflammation this can also happen, but with these your entire abdomen is hard and you know you're really sick. Gas will pass by itself in an hour or two. If the pain lasts more than 24-36 hours, get it checked.

Stretch marks: Think of stretch marks as a kind of scar. There is no cure for this problem which often looks better over time regardless of what treatment is used. Otc products such as Mederma are of no value.

A 33-year-old male asked:

I have a consistent pain in my lower back on the left side. Hurts the most when changing positions from sitting to standing. Meds don't work. Help?

Dr. Vance Harris

Musculoskeletal: The symptoms are seen most often with a musculoskeletal strain. You may have done something to overwork those muscles recently. Kidney stones can also cause problems as can herniation of the disc in the back. If the symptoms do not improve after several days then you should see your dr. There are many other causes of pain and that should be evaluated if it doesn't resolve.
