A member asked:

Does detected igg with lamba that is detected in an immunifixation serum blood test have anything to do with being positive for hsv1?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Usually an igg-lambda detect by immunofixation is a monoclonal protein; many middle-aged and older folks have one of these and it is seldom troublesome. Many folks also carry antibodies for hsv1 and unless your physician tells you otherwise, they're best considered unrelated.
