A member asked:

Follow up ?.. if 1/3 of people never show positive for hsv1 antibodies on igg blood test, how is the western blot more accurate at 12 weeks because that looks at antibodies too? i was negative on western blot at 12 weeks but nervous i still have it?

Different tests have different performances and accuracy. For HSV antibody, Western blot is the gold standard: it's results overrule all others. Unlike the IgG antibody test, WB misses very few if any infections with ether HSV1 or HSV2. You can be certain you have neither one of them.
