I pass blood with bowel movement constant bowel pains.my gp says it may be ibs.the spasmongal tablets i have, don't seem to work. anything else to try?

Blood is bad: Bright red blood in stool or black tarry colored stool referred to as melena are both reasons for concern. Ibs, a diagnosis of exclusion, by itself will not usually cause blood in stool, you will likely need to get a colonoscopy if you haven't already to find the cause of your bleeding. See your doctor again to get this diagnosed and treated.
