Blood pressure: There are many methods for stopping smoking, none of them are completely successful. I'd advise getting into a smoking cessation program where multiple options are available to you. Stick with it you need to stop.

Any are fine: Main methods of cessation include: behavior modification (counseling, hypnosis) nicotine replacement (patches, gum, electronic cigarettes, spray, ...) symptom control (use of anxiolytics and antidepressants that help avoid some of the most intense withdrawal symptoms) or receptor blocking (chantix, blocks the pleasurable effects of nicotine) all are fine with metoprolol and may need combination.
