A member asked:

My gi doc said my eosinophil count is 6.8% and gave me 3 months of xifaxin that didn't help. that's only for e coli...what if it's a diff bacteria?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rifaximin, also : Called xifaxin, is a nonabsorbable rifamycin antimicrobials using for traveler's diarrhea. I do not have a clue why it would be given for minimal eosinophilia. It is not a common factor in clostridium difficle colitis.
