Monthly ache: Hip pain is usually felt in the groin, so it does not sound like you are experiencing pain from your hip. Both back and muscle pain can get worse with your menstrual cycle- it is worth discussing with your pmd- with possible referral to a physiatrist.

Yes it is common to : Experience back pain with the menstrual cycle and this can be distinguished from hip pain as that is typically felt in the groin , buttock and/or thigh rather than the middle portion of the back. If no reasons not to use ibuprophen, take it to minimize your symptoms if needed at that time of your cycle.
