What did the doctor : I hope you are under the careof a pede doctor. This blood report is incomplete. You need to find out the results of the complete blood count(cbc) and differential count which will indicate if the white cells are normal/ abnormal. The platelet count is definitely high but this does not tell much. I would have you repeat the cbc/diff and platelet count and ask the pediatrician how to proceed further.

Not leukemia: The WBC ct is not high. He might just have a mild infection. The elevated platelet ct. Could be part of an infectious process. Leukemia will present with other symptoms and WBC will be extremely elevated. Are there bleeding issues? Family history of leukemia.
