For the past couple days my gums have been swollen and woke up bleeding with a blood clot on my bottom teeth?

Most likely you have calculus on your root surfaces which causes the gums to swell, bleed and become unattached to the teeth and bone. Then when you eat you can get things such as popcorn shells into the gums.

If most of your mouth is swollen and bleeding, then it appears you are suffering from gingivitis or even periodontitis. A single area could be an infection from a tooth. Either way you need to see a dentist.
