A member asked:

What is the most common way to deal with a tubal pregnancy, and do you have to have an ultrasound to confirm it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Medicine or surgery.: An ultrasound, blood pregnancy tests, and an exam all help diagnose tubal (ectopic) pregnancy. The ultrasound can help you see if a pregnancy is in the uterus or not. An ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside the uterus) is very serious and you should be seen by a doctor immediately. Treatment for an ectopic pregnancy can be with medicine or surgery.
