A member asked:

Sister has large pain in her wrist that she believes is caused from bad posture while typing. she's iced and wrapped it but still pain. what do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Use a splint: Using a carpal tunnel splint/brace (available without prescription at pharmacies) will immobilize the wrist and help her maintain appropriate wrist position (neutral) while typing. If pain does not resolve or she starts developing hand weakness she should seek physician evaluation. Evaluation of her workstation is important as positioning while typing is common reason for this type of problem.
