I have heard that magnesium supplements help with endometriosis. is this true?

I say no: We don't even know how to diagnose magnesium deficiency or how best to supplement (magnesium salts cause diarrhea). Despite a huge amount online about this, including some fanciful physiology (endometriosis is about abnormal cell growth, not muscle spasm), i searched the nih database and found exactly nothing, even in the junk journals. Green vegetables are ur best magnesium source & a good choice.

Limited data: There is evidence that patients with endometriosis have low magnesium levels; however, there is much less useful evidence about whether magnesium supplements will help with endometriosis. In this situation, i would discuss with your doctor about getting your mag level checked; if it is low, then supplement to normal levels. I would not go supra-normal.
